AISD to Make Devices Available for Secondary Students

Aldine ISD is committed to ensuring its students have access to educational opportunities, especially during this unique time. Because learning is now taking place outside of the traditional classroom, the district will begin distributing devices the week of April 13. AISD will place its focus on students in grades 6-12.

“We will make a limited number of Chromebooks and WiFi hotspots available for secondary students,” said Dr. Todd Davis, chief academic officer. “While we wish to provide resources for every single person, that is not possible. Available devices are limited to one per family and must be requested in advance.”

Parents and guardians are asked to request a device for their students.

Two registration forms are available: 

• Devices for high school seniors can be requested here.
• Devices for grades 6-11 can be requested here.

Registration forms will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 6, and close at Noon on Thursday, April 9.

“We are working to organize device pick up and distribution following all health and safety guidelines, including limiting direct contact between staff, parents, and students,” Davis said.

Additionally, all devices will be cleaned, updated, and sanitized before they are distributed.
