District Announces No Evaluations for All Employees for 2019-2020 School Year Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Due to circumstances related to COVID-19, the Texas Education Agency is allowing school districts to apply for an Educator Appraisal Waiver for 2019-2020. The Aldine Independent School District has informed all employees that there will be no end-of-year performance appraisals this school year.

On April 21, 2020, the Aldine Board of Trustees approved for the Aldine Independent School District to apply with TEA to waive Board Policy regarding performance appraisals-teacher evaluations (INVEST) for 2019-2020. Aldine ISD submitted the application and received the waiver approval on April 23 from TEA.

Personnel records will be documented to include information about the TEA, and the AISD Board approved waivers for the 2019-20 school year. With this action, all employees will remain on equal footing, and there will be no adverse effect on contracts for the 2020-21 school year.
