Eisenhower High School junior Victoria Cerda has been selected to the Houston Grand Opera’s (HGO) Bauer High School Voice Studio.

Eisenhower High School junior Victoria Cerda has been named to the Houston Grand Opera’s Bauer High School Vocal Studio.
Victoria was one of nine Houston-area high school students named to the 2020-21 class.
Students from all over Houston competed for a spot in this selective, competitive program and had to submit two vocal recordings in the first round of auditions along with a personal essay of intent. Students also had to submit two additional recordings of art songs in their final round of competition.
“These high school students exhibit extraordinary talent and potential and are interested in pursuing vocal performance at the collegiate level,” HGO said in a statement.
Victoria and her fellow class members will receive monthly masterclasses and lessons from Houston-area college voice faculty and HGO staff, financial assistance with travel for college auditions, professional-quality video to use for preliminary auditions and tickets to HGO mainstage dress rehearsals.
Victoria is taught by Sandra Walker and Michele Womack and receives voice lessons through Aldine ISD’s Vocal Initiative Project from voice teacher Kelli Estes.
