Choice Schools: High Schools Hosting Virtual Showcase Events for Incoming Ninth-Grade Students Starting Feb. 9

Disponible en: Español

Are you still undecided? The Showcase Events target families with current eighth-grade students making decisions about where they will go to high school based on their interests.

Undecided? Still, have more questions?

The district invites all incoming freshmen for the 2021-2022 school year to join the virtual high school showcases. These virtual sessions will be helpful to students who are undecided or who have more questions.

Unlike the 10-minutes virtual sessions in January, the one-hour showcases will allow each Choice School’s representatives the opportunity to share and discuss more in-depth their unique programs and opportunities for students.

Each Choice School HS Campus to Host Its Own Showcase

Each high school – Avalos P-TECH School, Eisenhower Ninth Grade School, Eisenhower HS, Blanson CTEHS, Victory Early College HS, and Carver HS – will host its own virtual Showcase Event in the evening, where students and their families can learn about campus programs, academic courses, and extracurricular activities. The start times for the High School Showcase Events vary.

You Have Options in Aldine ISD! Explore Your Opportunities!

The Showcase Events are an opportunity for families to learn more about AISD’s options to ensure Aldine ISD students attend a school that is a better match for them.

Educators at Choice Schools can motivate students to engage intellectually in a more meaningful and intense way by focusing on their specific interests, aspirations, and preferred learning styles.

Why choose Choice Schools? — A Best-Fit School for Your Child

All children are unique. Each learns in different ways, has aspirations for different careers, and is interested in different subjects. The more options there are that better suit a student’s interests, the better for the student. The district believes that if all students can attend a high-quality school that matches their interests, they will achieve their academic potential.

The International Baccalaureate® studies program provides a rigorous, highly recognized curriculum. The IB® Diploma Program is a globally recognized honors curriculum with many colleges and universities awarding credit upon exam results. Aldine ISD students can follow the entire IB® continuum — the Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program, and Diploma Program.

Additionally, each Choice School offers opportunities ranging from industry certifications to associate degrees. Meaning students will be earning college credit while in high school as well as completing their degree sooner. Blanson CTEHS offers 17 different programs, while Avalos P-TECH School has four programs in fields that are in high demand.

Who can join the Virtual High School Showcase Events?

Though the Showcase Events is primarily aimed at incoming freshmen, any current Aldine ISD student or guardian is also welcome to attend.

What to Expect

In addition to general information about campus programs and opportunities, school faculty will provide students and families with information for course selection for the coming academic year. Current students involved in their programs, extracurriculars, and other unique services and opportunities will be on hand to share their experiences.
