Aldine ISD Celebrates National School Lunch Week
Disponible en:
Aldine ISD is celebrating National School Lunch Week, October 11-15. Due to COVID-19, our school breakfast and lunch experiences look different. National School Lunch Week aims to highlight the importance of healthy school lunch in a child’s life. The theme for this year is “Wild About School Lunch!”
School lunches offer students fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and milk and meet federal nutrition standards limiting fat, calories, and sodium. National School Lunch Week helps educate students and families about all the wonderful benefits of our lunch program.
The federally-funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) has fueled students for success for more than 70 years. In April 2021, The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that schools would serve nutritious meals to all students free of charge regardless of eligibility through June 30, 2022. The National School Lunch Program Seamless Summer Option is expanding beyond the summertime and will be available for all Aldine ISD students through the 2021-2022 school year.
