District Early Head Start Program Holds Open Enrollment

The free, federally-funded program is designed to promote school readiness for children from families that qualify.

The Early Head Start Program in Aldine ISD serves children from six weeks to three years of age and focuses on building their school-ready skills and encourages parent involvement. It also links families to other services in the community.

Children who attend these programs participate in a variety of educational activities. They also receive some free medical and dental care services, have healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting.

Early Head Start helps all participating children grow and thrive, including children with special needs, such as physical and developmental delays or homelessness.

Benefits of Early Childhood Education

Children are exposed to positive and stimulating experiences to develop enhanced learning capabilities that improve their academic success odds at a young age. Young learners who attend early education programs show evidence of:
