54 Aldine ISD educators have been named Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators (HAABSE) Outstanding Teacher nominees.
The Houston Area Alliance of Black School Educators recently announced the recognition of their 35th annual Outstanding Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony, scheduled for 7 p.m. on February 4, 2022. The event will be virtual.
The Outstanding Teacher Awards and Recognition Ceremony celebrates teachers who continue to go above and beyond to serve their students and campus community. Nominees from each participating school will be recognized and honored during the event. This year more than 150 teachers will be recognized.
Each year, the HAABSE Teacher of the Year Committee reviews applications and will interview nominees who have been nominated by their campus administrators. HAABSE Teacher of the Year finalists will be selected once all applications are in.
During the virtual ceremony, one elementary and one secondary finalist will be chosen as HAABSE Teachers of the Year. The Teacher of the Year recipients and runner ups are eligible for monetary awards of up to $1,000. Additionally, proceeds from the event will be awarded in the form of scholarships to graduating high school seniors and college students who plan to enter the field of education.
