Texas Educational Diagnosticians Week is the perfect time to highlight their role in special education.
The Aldine Independent School District has 98 educational diagnosticians and school psychologists serving students across the district. These trained professionals are part of the special education team.
“I am grateful for our diagnosticians and their tireless work in supporting children and families,” said Tracy Bailey, executive director for special education services. “The Aldine ISD diagnosticians have done amazing work ensuring children received timely evaluations and family support.”
Educational diagnosticians play a vital role in helping students who need a greater helping hand to stay on the road to success. They are a critical part of the education process for our students as they meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Educational diagnosticians undergo specialized training to use academic and psychological tests to isolate factors that could enhance students’ performance in the classroom. Their role in education includes assessing students suspected of disabilities and writing formal evaluation reports. Diagnosticians provide information to ARD Committee meetings and assist special and general educators by developing and recommending strategies and materials.
Thank you to these outstanding staff members who work hard every day to help our students!
