Aldine Names New Chief Information Officer

Adam Galván, Chief Information Officer

Aldine Independent School District Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney has named Adam Galván the Chief Information Officer (CIO). He will oversee the district’s technology systems and services that support AISD’s mission and strategic priorities, effective March 21. He previously served as the assistant superintendent of operations and technology for Lockhart ISD.

“Adam comes to Aldine with 24 years of experience in technology with 12 of those years in educational technology,” said Goffney. “He has administrative and management skills in K-12 education — including experience implementing new technologies and developing long-range technology plans that make him uniquely qualified to oversee our IT technology and services. Adam’s leadership will help move our district forward, ensuring that Aldine ISD is innovative, safe, and fully supports our students, families, and employees.”

As CIO, Galván assumes responsibility for a technology system that, in size and complexity, rivals that of major industries and government agencies. He has been charged with evaluating, modernizing, and consolidating software platforms, improving access, security, and privacy for students, families, and teachers throughout the system, and ensuring equitable access to learning technologies for all Aldine ISD students.

At Lockhart ISD, serving more than 6,100 students, as the assistant superintendent of operations and technology, Galván was charged with improving and implementing new procedures in all areas, identifying growth areas, and providing a paperless environment for all departments. Galván also provided new direction and professional development for the instructional technology department. He provided long-term planning for the district’s continued growth, led the modernization of existing technologies, and increased technical support for staff and families while saving the district money.

As Chief Information Officer, Galván joins Chief of Staff Sheleah D. Reed, APR; Chief Academic Officer Dr. Todd Davis, Chief of Schools Dr. Katy Roede, Chief Business and Operations Officer Dr. Tamika Alford-Stephens, Chief of Human Resources Officer Dr. Javier Villarreal, Chief of Strategic Initiatives and Accountability Dawn Ayers-Rodríguez, and Chief Transformation Officer Adrian Bustillos.
