MacArthur Tennis Team Wins District 14-6A Title

The MacArthur High School boys and girls tennis team won the District 14-6A title. In addition, 14 players qualified for the Region II Tennis Tournament, slated for April 11-12 at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.

The team is under the direction of head coach Brandon Blake.

Héctor de la Cruz finished first in boys’ singles in boys’ singles, while Arthur Galván finished in second place. Both advanced to the regional tournament.

In girls’ doubles, the team of Abigail Pérez and Leslie Ramírez finished in first place, while the team of Briana Valentín and Jasmine de León finished in second place. Both teams advanced to the regional tournament.

In boys’ doubles, the team of Juan Torres and Anthony Vargas finished in first place, while the team of Pedro Gutiérrez and Eleazar Lara finished in second place. Both teams advanced to the regional tournament.

In mixed doubles, the Axel Díaz and Kiana Monsiváis team finished in first place, while the team of Nic Galván and Emily Lara finished in second place. Both teams advanced to the regional tournament.

Aldine High School’s Mariana Vargas finished in first place in girls’ singles and qualified for the regional tournament. Lindsey Eichelman coaches her.
