Victory Early College Again Among Top Campuses in U.S. News 2022 Best High Schools Rankings

In the 2022 “Best High Schools Rankings,” U.S. News & World Report unveiled which public high schools rank the best. For a 10th consecutive year, Victory Early College earned high national and metro-area rankings.

U.S. News released its 2022 Best High Schools Rankings this morning. The website releases its nationwide and state-by-state rankings annually, looking at the best high schools in both the country and all 50 states and the top charter, magnet, and STEM schools in the United States.

Victory Early College High School tops the Texas best high school lists with a graduation rate of 100% and a 98.97 scorecard. U.S. News also ranks Victory Early College High School as 183rd best school in the nation, 33rd in Texas, and 8th in the Houston metro area. The Best High Schools rankings, available online only, are produced in conjunction with RTI International, a global research firm. U.S. News doesn’t collect data directly from high schools – all data comes directly from official third-party sources. U.S. News receives AP and IB data directly from the College Board and International Baccalaureate, respectively, for use in the rankings. The state assessment data and graduation rates are from each state (such as STAAR in Texas), and other data comes from the U.S. Department of Education Common Core of Data.

 U.S. News ranked and analyzed approximately 17,840 public high schools out of the nearly 24,000 reviewed during the 2019-2020 school year. They restricted the rankings to public high schools with a 12th-grade enrollment of 15 students or greater or schools with sufficient enrollment in other high school grades.

The schools were grouped based on six factors: College Readiness (30%), College Curriculum Breadth (10%), State Assessment Proficiency (20%), Underserved Student Performance (10%), and Graduation Rate (10%).

By earning a national ranking in the top 40%, Victory Early College High School achieved status as a U.S. News Best High School. It also gained eligibility to display a U.S. News-trademarked 2022 Best High Schools award “badge.”
