Blanson CTE High School senior Toni Johnson recently received a pleasant surprise to help with her college education.

Representatives from Channel 2 and America Furniture Warehouse surprised the soon-to-be graduate with a $2,500 KPRC 2 Senior Scholarship, which American Furniture Warehouse sponsored.

To present Toni with her scholarship were Channel 2 Meteorologist Justin Stapleton and Jacob Colby with American Furniture Warehouse.

Toni said the scholarship would help her attend Lamar University, where she will major in psychology.

“If I am being honest, I’ve always known what I wanted to do after high school, and that was to go to school and major in psychology to become a social worker so that I can make a difference in people’s lives,” Toni said. “College is a chance that I have to use my experiences and help my community.”
