District to Host Transition Expo on October 1

The Transition Expo is an opportunity for families of children with disabilities, ages 3-22, to meet with agencies and organizations that can meet their diverse needs.

The Expo will also have a session for those unsure of their child’s plans after high school.

Representatives from local agencies, from local community colleges to public transportation, will provide resources and information regarding all transition phases from toddler to adult life.

• 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. — Free Childcare for Parents Attending the Event
• 9 a.m.-10 a.m. — Speaker: The Harris Center (breakfast provided)
• 10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Agency Exploration, TWC, Colleges, Vocational Programs, Lane School, Agencies, Day Habs, Social and Athletic Clubs, and Many More
• 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Harris County Fire Department, Aldine Police Department, and Harris County Emergency Corps — Fire Truck, Patrol Car, and EMT Tours; Safety and Career Exploration

Food trucks will be available to purchase lunch.
