Generals, Lady Generals Earn District 14-6A Cross Country Titles

The MacArthur High School Generals and Lady Generals each finished in first place in their respective divisions at the District 14-6A Cross Country Meet, held Thursday, Oct. 13 at Lone Star College-North Harris.

For the Generals, it was their 14th straight district title. The boys and girls teams are under the direction of head coach Patrick James and assistant coaches Kelly Silha and Michael Peraza.

By winning district titles, both teams advance to the Region II Cross Country Meet, slated for Monday, Oct. 24 in Grand Prairie.

They will be joined at regionals by the Nimitz and Eisenhower boys teams, and the Aldine girls team. The Nimitz boys finished second at district, while the Eisenhower boys finished in third place and the Aldine girls team finished in third place.

The Generals team consisted of Sebastian Ayala, Joshua Calderon, Johnny Chavez, Eduardo Espinoza, Jamie Martinez, Andres Ramirez, Ray Romero and Abeiro San Juan.

The Lady Generals team consisted of Alejandra Espinoza, Joselin Gonzalez, Maria Gonzalez, Ciara Ramirez, Miranda Machado, Samantha Perez and Lorena Yanez.

The Nimitz boys team consisted of Jonathan Doyle, Cruz Alvarez, Ricardo Pucheta, Tommy Landaverde, Anthony Galvez and Juan Velez.
The Eisenhower boys team consisted of Isaac Espericueta, Pastor Martinez, Angel Vicencio, Ernesto Pulido Hernandez, Anderson Meza and Cristian Torres.

The Aldine girls team consisted of Elda Zuniga Villa, Hannah Chavez, Rebecca Cervantes, Kimberlyn Prez and Tatiana Rodriguez.
In addition to the top three teams advancing to regionals, the top 10 individual finishers will also compete at regionals. Nimitz High’s Alysia Doyle finished in first place in the girls division and will also be competing at the Region II Meet.
