Registration is open for anyone interested in transforming reading, and writing can join the event.

This is the third year Aldine ISD is hosting the conference. The conference continues to grow, drawing more than 2,500 people in 2022 from Texas, the country, and worldwide. Experts in the science of reading, equity, literacy, curriculum, multilingual, early childhood, school reform, education research, and more are participating.

Breakout sessions will take place each hour and include topics geared toward administrators, elementary and secondary teachers of all subjects, multilingual teachers, special education teachers, literacy leaders, and anyone interested in learning about the science of reading and improving students’ literacy skills.

There are over 80 sessions available, including author panels, keynote speeches, curriculum-specific sessions, and general sessions on instructional strategies. The district will use an app platform where registered attendees will find all the sessions. Organizers will share the app information with individuals who register after finalizing sessions.

There is a more significant focus on equity and differentiation this year. Many sessions are focused on serving students from a variety of backgrounds. In addition, an authors’ panel will speak on behalf of ensuring students have access to books that provide mirrors and windows. AISD has added sessions for families and others focusing on social-emotional learning this year.
