Over 500 Young Women Bring Girl Power to GIRLS Empowerment Summit

Over 500 female high school 12th graders across Aldine ISD attended the inaugural GIRLS Empowerment Summit on March 30 at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center. The soon-to-be graduates from all 10 high schools brought the girl power. Influential, successful female leaders from Houston — Meagan Edwards, Amanda Edwards, and Izzy Anderson — inspired them and shared helpful nuggets. M. Edwards is an educator and among the Top 50 women leaders of Houston, A. Edwards is a lawyer and candidate for the City of Houston, and Anderson is Houston Community College Vice Chancellor and Chief HR Officer. The acronym GIRLS stands for — Grit, Irreplaceable, Resilient, Legacy, and Self-love.
