8 Individuals, 2 Relay Teams Advance to Region 2 Track and Field Meet

Eight Aldine ISD student-athletes have qualified for the Region 2 Track and Field Meet.

Eight individuals and two relay teams from Aldine ISD have qualified for the Region 2 Track and Field Meet, slated for Waco Midway High School April 28-29.

The Eisenhower boys’ 400-meter relay team consisting of Tyler Hutcherson, Braylon Oliphant, Ryan Niblett, and Deven Austin will compete at the Region 2 Meet. Darius Adams and Jonathan Corbin will serve as alternates.

Hutcherson will also compete in the 100-meter, and 200-meter dashes at regionals, while Preston Johnson will compete in the long jump. Niblett will compete in the long jump and triple jump. MacArthur High’s Keenan Jackson qualified for regionals in the long jump.

Davis High School’s Andre Washington qualified in the 200-meter dash.

The Eisenhower High School girls’ 400-meter relay team also qualified for the Region 2 Meet. The team comprises Brandy Freeman, Warneshia Horn, Dorian Bell-Lewis, and Alaina Nathan. Daisha Williams will serve as an alternate.

Eisenhower High’s Devin Fox qualified in the 100-meter dash; Nimitz High’s Na’Zahra Thomas qualified in the long jump and triple jump, and teammate Andrea Franco qualified in the discus and shot put.

The top two individual finishers in each event and the top two relay teams will earn a trip to the Class 6A State Track and Field Meet, set for May 11-13 at the University of Texas in Austin.
