District Student’s Artwork Selected to Represent Aldine at Mexican American School Board Association’s District Art Contest

Disponible en: Español

Verónica Calderón’s photograph has been chosen to represent Aldine ISD and compete in the 2023 Mexican American School Board Association’s District Art Contest. The Carver High School student beautifully captured the theme of Latino Heritage in her work. Verónica’s work celebrated the rich Mexican culture and heritage!

Her work will be displayed and judged at our 2023 September conference in San Antonio.

The winning young artist will receive a $1,000 award.

MASBA-member districts can bring one high school student artwork for display at its hosting hotel: The Westin Riverwalk, San Antonio. An invited artist will judge the student artwork to determine first, second, and third place — all three of which will receive grants to support their artistic careers.

Visit the MASBA website for more details about the contest.
