Hazel Health Telehealth Program Offers Families FREE Immediate Access to Student Physical Health Services

Last school year, Aldine ISD launched a new health services program, and we want to ensure district families have access to these services all year.

The school district partnered with Hazel Health, a telehealth provider for K-12 schools, to expand student health services. The goals are to reduce student absences, provide culturally responsive school- and home-based care, and address students’ health needs.

With Hazel Health, students can immediately speak with a licensed medical professional from home or school and receive over-the-counter medicines at school if needed. Hazel is currently available to students enrolled in the following schools in Aldine ISD:

• Stovall EC/PreK/K School
• Vines EC/PreK/K School

When a student is in school, the school nurse or designated staff uses an iPad to help them talk directly with a medical professional over live video.

During Hazel Health’s virtual visits, students can receive treatment for common ailments such as stomach aches, headaches, and other issues.

Services Are Free

Hazel Health services are free for all students at this time.

Parents/Legal Guardians Must Sign Up for Services

Parents and guardians must consent if they want their children to receive health care services from Hazel Health.

What Types of Services Are Provided?

On-demand physical health services include:

• Medical Treatment: For stomach aches, headaches, sprained ankles, asthma concerns, and everything in between
• Medication: Prescriptions written or over-the-counter provided at school when needed
• Coordination: With family physician and return-to-school communications
