Aldine ISD Police Department’s Trunk or Treat a Spooktacular Success

The rain couldn’t stop the ghoulish fun had by all.

The Aldine ISD Police Department drew more than 600 children and their families to its first trunk or treat. The event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on October 26 was initially intended to be an outdoor event. However, with rain in the forecast, the fun was quickly moved indoors at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center.

The district’s Police Department, in collaboration with the East Aldine Management District, hosted the event. Ariel Holliday, the department’s outreach officer, coordinated the event. Holiday said they had as many pounds of candy to give out as they did children show up.

“Families came out and enjoyed free pizza, music, a haunted house, decorated trunks, costumes, and loads of candy,” said Holliday.

Holliday thanks her department, other district departments, and the community for their support.

“Aldine ISD Police would like to thank everyone who assisted in making this event a wonderful and enjoyable night out for the children and parents, and we plan on doing this again next year,” said Holliday.

Chief of Police Paul Córdova said the event was a huge success.

“This event was a huge success for us,” Córdova said. “We had so many children show up, and families were enjoying the night, especially the decorated trunks and the haunted hall, giving it a bit of a spooky good time. I am pleased that this is another way we are building relationships with the community.”

Córdova said he and Holliday are already talking about hosting another event in 2024, as well as planning more holiday events coming up this year.
