10 District Students Advance to Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo School Art Contest

The students will compete with peers across the Houston area at the NRG.

Aldine ISD held a reception on January 19 to announce the winners of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) School Art Program.

Judges who selected the top artwork included art teachers and Texas Art Education board members. The selections have been taken to the NRG Arena for the next level of the contest and auction.

Students, families, art instructors, and campus and district leaders attended the Visual Arts Reception. Kaileigh Newman, AISD director of visual arts, thanks everyone who came out to support the students.

The 10 AISD winners in the high school, middle school, and elementary school divisions will be displayed in the Hayloft Gallery at the NRG Center during the RODEOHOUSTON® season, which runs February 27 through March 17, 2024. RODEOHOUSTON® will hold an Awards Ceremony for the School Art Contest in March.
