Nimitz girls Advance to Area Round of 6A Basketball Playoffs

The Nimitz High School Lady Cougars have advanced to the Area Round of the Class 6A girls’ state basketball tournament.

The Lady Cougars, under the direction of head coach Kendra Venzant,  defeated The Woodlands, 61-54, in bi-district and will face Klein Oak on Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Area Round.

The Area Round game will begin at Aldine ISD’s Davis High School at 7 p.m.

If the Lady Cougars win, they will take on the winner of the Westfield-Cypress Lakes game, scheduled for Friday, Feb. at Waller High School.
