WOMEN OF ALDINE: Meet Gina Foroi, A Dedication to Education and Community Empowerment
Disponible en:
Aldine ISD’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Executive Director Georgina Foroi, affectionately known as Ms. Gina Foroi, stands as a testament to the transformative power of education and the impact one individual can have in a school district. As the new Executive Director of FACE , Gina brings 19 years of commitment and experience to her role.
Gina’s journey in Aldine ISD began humbly, starting as a paraprofessional 19 years ago at Conley Elementary School. Since then, she has held various roles within the district, including teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal, before assuming her current position as FACE executive director.
Gina’s words of wisdom encapsulate her ethos of resilience and determination: “always believe in yourself and keep pushing for greatness!
“My passion for education began by being a bilingual student who was immersed into English in Kindergarten and was welcomed by the most nurturing, loving and caring teacher who provided a peer, visuals and lots of gestures that helped me navigate my way through the day. This definitely inspired me to become a teacher that would emulate those same mannerisms to help students reach their full potential. Although I entered education after having spent ten years in the hospitality industry, I was in my element when I came to education because I would finally fulfill my dream. I started as a paraprofessional, then became a teacher, skills specialist, assistant principal, principal and now executive director of the family and community engagement department. Today I get to not only work with amazing leaders to build strong relationships with the community, but I also get to impact the lives of parents by being their voice”.
As we celebrate Gina’s remarkable journey, we are reminded of the impact dedicated educators can have on shaping the future generation. Her commitment to education and community empowerment serves as an inspiration to us all, reaffirming our collective responsibility to ensure every child has access to quality education and opportunities for success.
