Nimitz Girls Finish First in 4×100 and 4×200-meter Relays at Area Meet of Champions

The Nimitz High School girls’ relay teams picked up gold medals in the 4×100- and 4×200-meter relays at the Class 6A Area Meet of Champions, which qualified them for the Region II Meet, scheduled for Friday, April 19, at Waco Midway High School.

The relay teams include Jayla Cooper, Andrea Thomas, Kerryelle Carter, and Amaya Armstrong. Cooper also qualified for regions in the 100-meter hurdles. The team is coached by Jarryd Gray.

Davis High School will send two track athletes to the regional meet as Diamond Bossier competes in the long jump and 200-meter dash and Jamarion Hutchison in the 200-meter dash. Tramisha McGrew coaches them.

Eisenhower High School’s Addison Rogers will compete in the 800-meter run at regionals. Krystal Washington coaches Rogers.

MacArthur High School will be sending two track athletes to the regional meet. Kayla Jones will compete in the triple jump, and Tavion Atkinson will compete in the discus. They are coached by Patrick James and Christopher Dykes.
