Good Reason Houston Names Kujawa Primary and Impact Leadership Academy Among Inaugural ‘Schools That Inspire’ Honorees

The initiative celebrates the good work the honorees do and provides a platform for other schools and organizations to learn from the best. It’s an opportunity to gain insights, strategies, and inspiration from these exemplary schools and organizations and work toward a future where every student thrives.

Houston Schools That Inspire, led by Good Reason Houston, has just named its nine winners for its inaugural awards program. This initiative aims to recognize and showcase the brilliance, beauty, and unwavering commitment to student success within Houston public schools and education organizations.

The Schools That Inspire initiative highlights those leading in three transformative areas: PreK education, Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) initiatives. These efforts are not just about recognition but about shaping a promising future of education in Houston, where students are equipped with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed.

The 2024 award recipients from Aldine ISD include:

Kujawa Primary: The EC/PreK/K campus is a beacon of learning where students (ages 3-5) are ignited with new knowledge every day. The school’s commitment to fostering curiosity is evident in its use of a high-quality curriculum that sparks the curiosity of young learners. The campus was lauded for balancing SEL with traditional academics to educate the whole child.

Impact Leadership Academy: A campus (Grades 1-8) where school culture is rooted in the identities and voices of the students by instilling self-awareness, a sense of purpose, and an expanded view of the world while preparing them academically for future success.

Both campuses are Choice School options within Aldine ISD.

The Houston Schools That Inspire award recipients were honored on May 14, when Good Reason Houston made a special visit to each school and organization. The event was a celebration of their achievements and a testament to the impact of their work in the education sector.
