Leadership Changes for the 2024-2025 School Year

Aldine ISD remains steadfast in its commitment to providing students with the best education possible and ensuring they graduate with choices and opportunities. The district made several changes over the summer due to the district’s annual optimization process. These changes are a testament to our dedication to serving our students and the district’s interests while valuing each staff member’s role in AISD’s mission.

Dr. Adrian Bustillos

Changes That Took Place Over the Summer

• Chief Transformation Officer Dr. Adrian Bustillos will oversee additional programs: CTE, advanced academics, virtual school, and performing and visual arts. Streamlining these cross-functional departments will impact schools more and enhance students’ choices and opportunities.
• Significant changes have taken place in the realignment of School Assistant Superintendents. This strategic move aims to support our campuses better, underscoring their crucial role in our schools’ success (see below).

  Christi Van Wassenhove

  Christi Van Wassenhove has transitioned from her role as Executive Director of Literacy and Social Studies to the position of Executive Director of Professional Learning and Leadership Development. This change in leadership roles is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance professional growth and leadership within our district.

New Schools Office Alignment for 2024-25

While primary school alignment remained unchanged, Chief of Schools Dr. Javier Villarreal realigned the secondary schools. This realignment aims to provide more intentional support to our middle schools, reassuring our staff that we are committed to their professional growth and the success of our students.
