Aldine ISD invites families and students — prekindergarten to high school — to explore a world of educational opportunities for the 2025-2026 school year at the Choice School Festival. All Choice School programs are free and available to students who live inside and outside the district boundaries.

For families considering a school outside their neighborhood, the School Choice Festival is a unique opportunity. It’s the only time all AISD Choice Schools — magnet and more — are in one place simultaneously. This means you can visit every AISD Choice School in one morning and at one central location. The festival is a free event that allows families to consider their options before deciding.

Over 30 Choice Schools

The festival will showcase the district’s diverse Choice School programs, offering a chance for attendees to learn more about the unique and exciting educational pathways available to students. These programs cater to a variety of interests and learning styles, including magnet schools [STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and fine arts], the International Baccalaureate continuum (Primary Years Program, Middle Years Program, and Diploma Program), early college, career and technical education (CTE)/Pathways in Technology Early College High (P-TECH) school, newcomer, two-way dual language (TWDL), non-traditional, single-genre, and middle school preparatory options, promising an exciting and enriching educational journey for your child. When you select a school that best fits your child, you spark their interest and curiosity to learn.

Applications are now Open! Important Choice School Application Deadline and First Lottery Date

The festival is an opportunity to explore and a crucial step in the application process. Families will have the chance to speak with school teachers and other staff, explore different program offerings, sign up for school tours, and discover which Choice School best aligns with their child’s educational goals. The first Choice School lottery for the 2024-2025 school year is set for December 18, 2024, with the deadline to guarantee entry into the lottery being December 11, 2024. This information will ensure that families are well-informed and prepared for the application process.
