Aldine ISD Celebrates Board Recognition Month

January is Board Recognition Month, a time to honor and express gratitude to the dedicated members of the Aldine ISD Board of Trustees. These committed individuals volunteer countless hours to ensure the success of our students and schools.

The Board of Trustees guides the district by setting policies, approving budgets, and fostering a vision for educational excellence. Their work helps Aldine ISD maintain its mission of providing all students with an equitable and high-quality education.

In a statement, TASB executive director Dan Troxell said this year’s theme, ‘Leadership for Tomorrow’s Texas,’ emphasizes the critical role school board members play in shaping the future of our state. School board members help connect education to opportunity, and the theme showcases their investment in the state’s future workforce.

“Our Board of Trustees are passionate advocates for our students, staff, and community,” said Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney. “I and so many in Aldine appreciate everything our trustees do on behalf of our public school children. Their unwavering commitment to equity and excellence helps ensure that every child in Aldine ISD has the opportunity to succeed. Their strong local governance and partnership with parents and teachers is the foundation for ensuring our students have the skills and experiences they need to help build tomorrow’s Texas. We are truly fortunate to have such an exceptional team leading the way.”

In addition to participating in regular school board meetings, trustees also serve as ambassadors and advocates for their school districts in their local communities and Austin. Trustees work long hours attending meetings, collaborating with educators and community members, and making difficult decisions that affect the lives of all students and families.
