Carver High School Orchestra to Perform at POST Houston Spring Concert

Carver High School’s Orchestras extend a warm invitation to all families to celebrate the musical talents of Carver High School for Applied Technology, Engineering, and the Arts during its Spring Orchestra Concert on Friday, May 16, at 7 p.m. The event will occur at the Z Atrium within the POST Houston, a downtown cultural hub known for its vibrant art and food scene.

“The Carver Orchestra is developing as a beloved community centerpiece,” said Grace Lewis, director of orchestras at Carver High School. “We look forward to sharing our music in spaces around the Houston community as we grow. I thank the POST Houston for inviting us to play at their venue, and a special thank you to the Houston Professional Musicians’ Union and the Music Performance Trust Fund.”

A Feast for the Senses

The concert, supported by the Houston Professional Musicians’ Union, will be a showcase of diversity and talent. All three of Carver’s competitive orchestras will perform, along with special performances from State soloists Jasmine Jackson and Kelsey Williams. The evening will be further enriched with appearances by the Carver Aldine Dance Company, the Carver Quintet, and guest double bassist Thomas Helton.

Carver is a Choice School in Aldine ISD, welcoming students from across the district who are passionate about the arts and technical fields.
