Aldine ISD Police Department Hosts Annual BBQ in Honor of National Police Week

The Aldine ISD Police Department hosted its annual barbecue on Friday, May 16, in honor of National Police Week, in conjunction with Peace Officers’ Memorial Day which is observed on May 15. It’s a time to honor and remember law enforcement officers who have lost their lives or been injured in the line of duty and recognize those who protect and serve our communities.

The annual barbecue featured music and giveaways. Most importantly, it was an opportunity for other law enforcement agencies in the Houston area to fellowship with each other. Law enforcement agencies in attendance were: Humble ISD Police Department, Spring ISD Police Department, Metro Police Department, Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Harris County Constable’s Office from Precinct 1, City of Humble Police Department, and Tomball Police Department.

“We play a critical role in society, standing between the line of chaos and order, fear and safety, and good and evil,” said Aldine ISD Chief of Police, Paul Cordova. “Most of us got into this profession not because of the money, but because it was a calling. A calling to remain committed to always holding the line, to be a protector for the community, to give comfort in times of loss, and to bring calmness in times of fear.”

The Aldine ISD Police Department was established in September 1990. The department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, protecting Aldine students, faculty, and staff to provide a safe learning environment. Aldine officers provide services such as 24-hour patrolling of district property, criminal investigations, school resource officers, and many more services.
