Georgina “Gina” Foroi joins national program preparing Latino educators for top district leadership roles

Georgina “Gina” Foroi, executive director of family and community engagement for Aldine ISD, has been selected to join Cohort 15 of the Superintendent Leadership Academy, a national program offered by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents.

Offered by the Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents (ALAS), the SLA is one of the most competitive and respected leadership development programs in public education. Each year, ALAS selects a small cohort of high-potential Latino administrators from across the country to engage in a yearlong journey of reflective learning, executive coaching, and high-level collaboration with national education thought leaders.

The program is designed to cultivate visionary leaders committed to equity, inclusion, and excellence in school systems serving historically marginalized communities.

Foroi’s selection recognizes her leadership, vision, and impact. Foroi began her career more than 20 years ago as a paraprofessional at Conley Elementary School. She has since served as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, principal, and now executive director. Her bilingual background, early experience as an English learner, and 10 years in the hospitality industry have shaped her belief in the power of human connection and access. Those experiences inform her inclusive leadership style and her commitment to empowering families and communities.

As head of Aldine ISD’s family and community engagement department, Foroi works to build trust between schools and families. She leads efforts to ensure parents are seen as partners and advocates in their children’s education. Her selection reflects Aldine ISD’s commitment to developing leaders who reflect and uplift the communities they serve.

Through the Superintendent Leadership Academy, Foroi joins a national network of changemakers working to close opportunity gaps and lead with cultural awareness, authenticity, and purpose. Her journey highlights the transformative power of education — and underscores the importance of representation and advocacy at every level of school leadership.
