As the new school year approaches, it is essential to ensure your child’s immunizations are up to date. Immunizations are the most effective way to reduce the incidence of serious vaccine-preventable diseases, such as measles. Vaccines not only protect those who are vaccinated, but also provide community protection or “herd immunity”. Herd immunity reduces the spread of disease to those who cannot be vaccinated, from the youngest infants to immunocompromised individuals of any age.

Aldine ISD students are scheduled to return to school on August 11, 2025. All students must show acceptable evidence of vaccination before enrollment, attendance, or transfer to any Aldine School. A student must be fully immunized against certain diseases or present a certificate or statement that, due to medical reasons or reasons of conscience, including a religious belief, the student will not be immunized. For exemptions based on reasons of conscience, only official forms issued by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), Immunization Branch, can be honored by the district.

If your child received any immunizations, please bring the shot record to the campus school nurse so the student’s record can be updated.
