Carver High School Orchestra to Present Winter Concert at POST Houston on Dec. 4The Carver High School Orchestra will present its Winter Concert on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7:30 p.m. at POST Houston. This promises to be a unique and festive evening, as the orchestra will be performing holiday music with a jazz twist, a treat for all music enthusiasts.

The performance will feature guest artists Natalie Broussard and Alex Navarro of Standards and Strings, who will join students for a program of classic Christmas selections reimagined with a jazzy spin. The Carver Aldine Dance Company will also make a special appearance.

Grace Lewis, a professional double bassist who leads the Carver Magnet High School Orchestra, is the recipient of the Houston Symphony Award for Excellence in Music Education earlier this year. Gabriella Garces, a dedicated music educator, co-leads with Lewis.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for our musicians to perform in a dynamic space and collaborate with outstanding guest artists,” Lewis said.

The concert, presented in partnership with the Houston Professional Musicians’ Association, is a celebration of the next generation of musical excellence.

The event will take place in POST’s Z Atrium. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to explore the venue’s offerings, including:
