Aldine ISD Announces Updated District and Campus Accountability Ratings Following State Appeal Process

Aldine ISD has received updated 2025 A–F accountability scores from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) following the state’s completion of its formal appeal process and the incorporation of corrected data submitted earlier this year. The revised results reflect corrections to College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) indicators and adjusted STAAR domain calculations that had been excluded or inaccurately captured in the initial ratings released in August.

In a letter to Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney dated December 9, 2025, TEA Commissioner Mike Morath confirmed that several Aldine ISD campuses were assigned inaccurate ratings and that the updated scores more accurately reflect student performance and growth across the district.

Based on TEA’s revised results:

• Aldine ISD’s overall district rating increased from a 73 to a 75 (C).
• Five high school campuses improved their overall rating.
• Several campuses demonstrated notable gains tied to corrected CCMR data and updated STAAR calculations.

The following campuses saw rating increases based on the updated accountability results:

• Carver High School for Applied Technology, Engineering, and The Arts: B → A
• Davis High School: D → C
• MacArthur High School: D → C
• Nimitz High School: C → B
• Aldine ISD (District Rating): 73 → 75

Note: Aldine High School and Eisenhower High School also received updated scores, but their ratings remained in the same letter-grade category.

“These updated results confirm what we already knew — Aldine ISD students and teachers are making real, measurable progress,” said Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney. “Our staff has worked relentlessly to strengthen instruction, raise expectations, and ensure our students are learning at higher levels. It is rewarding to see these improvements accurately represented in the state’s accountability data. We will continue to accelerate learning and keep our momentum strong.”

Most adjustments were tied to corrected submission data in the district’s 2023–2024 PEIMS file, particularly in CCMR indicators such as college-prep course completion and industry-based certifications. TEA noted that revised scaled scores and updated domain ratings now reflect those corrections.

“These revisions provide a more accurate reflection of student achievement and growth across Aldine ISD,” said Dr. Dawn Ayers-Rodríguez, Chief of Accountability, Assessment, and Analytics. “Our educators have been focused on effective instruction, closing learning gaps, and expanding postsecondary readiness. The corrected results validate those efforts and highlight the academic gains we are seeing across the system.”

Each year, TEA issues A–F accountability ratings for districts and campuses based on several indicators, including STAAR test performance, academic growth, graduation rates, and progress in closing learning gaps. While these ratings provide a snapshot of performance, district leaders emphasize that they represent only one part of a student’s whole educational experience.

TEA will update its public accountability dashboard, TXschools.gov, with final ratings reflecting resolved appeals on Thursday, December 11, 2025. Families and community members will be able to view campus and district scores online at that time.
