SAT School Day: What Aldine ISD High School Juniors and Their Families Need to Know

This spring, Aldine ISD high school juniors will take the SAT for free during the regular school day, thanks to a statewide and district-supported initiative.

SAT testing for juniors runs March 25–27, 2026. Each campus will set and share its test date within this window.

What Families Need to Know

The SAT is free for all juniors. Aldine ISD pays all costs. No registration — campuses will enroll juniors. The test is during the school day at students’ home campuses.

Students should come to school prepared on their scheduled test day.

“This gives every junior access to a key milestone on their path beyond high school,” said Dr. Susan Pelezo, executive director of advanced academics. “By covering costs and enrolling students, we remove barriers so students can focus on preparation.”

Why the SAT Matters

The SAT is a widely used college entrance exam. It measures reading, writing, and math skills developed in high school.

Strong scores open doors: they support college applications, qualify you for scholarships, and highlight your strengths and need for growth areas.

Even with test-optional policies at some colleges and universities, high scores can provide more options.

How Students Can Prepare

You don’t need expensive courses — just commitment. Prepare by staying engaged in learning, practicing, and resting before test day.

Campuses support juniors through activities, announcements, Khan Academy resources, and a SAT Prep Saturday on March 21. Take advantage and be prepared!
