The free event offers a one-stop opportunity for families to discover more than 30 specialized Choice School programs — including nationally recognized magnet programs and specialty campuses — designed to match students’ interests, strengths, and future goals — from Montessori and dual-language to STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), fine arts, early college, and career pathways.

“In Aldine ISD, every child deserves access to a school experience that reflects their interests and prepares them for their future,” said Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney. “Our Choice Schools Festival is an invitation for families to explore those opportunities and find the right fit for their child. This is what #AldineStory is all about — creating pathways that open doors and expand what’s possible for every student.”

Explore Programs Designed With Purpose

Families can meet campus representatives, ask questions, and learn how each program prepares students for success.

Offerings span every grade level, including:

• Early Childhood (PreK–K): Montessori, dual language, fine arts, International Baccalaureate (IB®) Primary Years Program
• Elementary School: STEM, fine arts, Montessori, dual language, IB® Primary Years Program, all-boys campus
• Middle School: STEM, fine arts, IB® Middle Years Program, all-boys and all-girls campuses
• High School: Pathways in Technology Early College High (P-TECH) School, early college, college prep, fine arts, as well as career and technical education pathways

Many high school programs offer students the opportunity to earn college credit, industry certifications, or hands-on career training while still in high school.

Spotlight on High-demand, High-impact Programs

Among the programs families can explore is the Health Education And Learning (HEAL) Program at Nimitz High School, which prepares students for careers in the fast-growing healthcare field.

In partnership with Memorial Hermann Health System and funding from the Bloomberg Foundation, the HEAL program offers five specialized pathways:

• Nursing
• Physical and occupational therapy
• Medical imaging
• Pharmacy
• Healthcare business administration

While nursing remains a popular choice, district leaders encourage families to explore the full range of healthcare pathways, each offering strong career opportunities and hands-on learning experiences.

The program will also celebrate a major milestone on April 22, when Aldine ISD hosts a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly transformed 6,000-square-foot mock hospital training space, designed to give students real-world medical experience.

The festival will also highlight the Aldine Young Women’s Leadership Academy. Through a partnership with Young Women’s Preparatory Network, the college-preparatory program focuses on leadership development, academic excellence, and empowering young women to succeed in competitive STEM fields.

Another featured campus is Impact Leadership Academy, an all-boys school serving students in grades 1–8, designed to develop leadership, character, and academic excellence from an early age. Through its partnership with Prairie View A&M University, students benefit from mentorship opportunities and exposure to college readiness initiatives, including the development of an entrepreneurship program that encourages innovation, critical thinking, and real-world problem-solving.

Open to All Families — Inside and Outside Aldine ISD

Aldine ISD Choice Schools are open to students both within and outside district boundaries, offering families across the region access to specialized programs not available everywhere.

Families who live outside Aldine ISD are welcome to apply, though they are responsible for arranging transportation.
