On March 24, the Aldine ISD Board of Trustees unanimously passed a proclamation, at the request and efforts of Eisenhower High Theatre Department, officially designating March as Theatre in Our Schools Month, commending the district’s theatre programs and the talented students who participate in them.
The proclamation “encourages all schools, students, staff, families, and community members to recognize and support the contributions of theatre education in forming well-rounded, thoughtful, and capable future leaders.”
Student representatives from Eisenhower Senior High School Troupe 4588 officers, who have served for the 2025-2026 school year, shared their united thoughts of this to the Board about the impact of theatre education in the following statement:
“Theatre In Our Schools Month is important to our troupe because it brings to light the work and efforts that young individuals put into their programs. TIOSM also recognizes the commitment of our directors and administrators who dedicate so much to us in our goals and endeavors. Our theatre department believes that this program isn’t just acting or building, but it’s creating a safe space where we work hard together as a family. We are grateful and appreciative to our district leaders for recognizing the vitality of theatre in our schools and honoring us with this proclamation.”
HeidiAaron Rouse, the Eisenhower HS theatre director of Troupe 4588, initiated the proclamation process.
“I, along with my students, am so grateful for our administration taking the time to recognize this request as well as the work that all of our theatre departments do across the district,” said Rouse. “This is a huge step in bringing more awareness and support to not only our theatre students, but our fine arts family across the board.”
