Aldine ISD invites families to attend its Pre-K Expo and Enrollment Fair on Saturday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Bamberg Professional Development and Resource Center, 9999 Veterans Memorial Dr., Houston, TX 77038
The event is open to current and prospective families, both within and outside of the Aldine ISD community, who are interested in learning more about the district’s prekindergarten programs and receiving assistance with the enrollment process.
The district offers a variety of early childhood learning programs, including prekindergarten (Pre-K) and kindergarten (K) for children ages 3, 4 and 5 by Sept. 1 of the current year. Pre-K 3 programs are offered as half-day programs for eligible 3-year-olds, while Pre-K 4 programs are full-day programs for eligible 4-year-olds. Kindergarten programs are available for eligible 5-year-olds.
During the event, families will have the opportunity to:
- Meet campus administrators and representatives from departments such as Head Start, child nutrition and transportation
- Complete on-site registration with assistance from district staff
- Learn more about the Pre-K curriculum and classroom experience
- Visit a model classroom showcasing instructional materials and student work
In addition to enrollment support and program information, families can enjoy food, music, games, and interactive activities. The event will also feature program demonstrations and performances from Pre-K choice schools Kujawa EC/PK/K International Baccalaureate (IB) and Reece Academy Fine Arts, along with opportunities to explore an Aldine school bus and local public safety vehicles.
Each Pre-K child in attendance will receive a free backpack, along with books and school supplies, while supplies last, to help support a strong start to the school year.
The Pre-K expo is supported by long-standing community partners, including Texas Children’s Health Plan, which will provide food and games; Lakeshore Learning Materials, which will showcase classroom furniture, instructional materials and school readiness resources; DePelchin Children’s Center, which will offer free parent education; and Hope Clinic and Nimitz Clinic, which will provide health-related resources.
Under Texas law, tuition-free Pre-K is available for eligible 3- and 4-year-olds who meet specific criteria. For more information about eligibility, required documents and enrollment, visit AldineISD.org/EarlyLearning.
