Aldine ISD Announces Principal Appointments for the 2026-2027 School Year

Experienced leaders bring decades of expertise and a shared commitment to student success.

As Aldine ISD prepares to welcome students for the 2026-2027 school year, six experienced educators are stepping into new principal roles to lead campuses across the district. Collectively, they bring more than 130 years of experience in education and a shared commitment to creating learning environments where every student can thrive.

The appointments include Dr. Shanaya Anderson at W.T. Hall Success Academy, Juan Toscano at Jerry D. Keeble EC/PreK/K School, Dr. Brittany Shields at Ellen B. Lane School, Robin Jones at Ruby M. Reed Academy, Nadia Stafford at Cypresswood Elementary School, and Delilah St. Julian at Nadine Kujawa Elementary School.

“Strong campus leadership is essential to creating schools where students thrive,” Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney said. “Each of these leaders brings unique experiences, a passion for serving students, and a commitment to building positive school cultures. I am excited to see the impact they will make as they lead their campuses and support our mission of providing exceptional learning experiences for every student.”

Chief of Schools Diaka Melendez said effective principals play a critical role in shaping the culture and success of every campus.

“Our principals set the tone for teaching, learning, and relationships within their school communities,” Melendez said. “Dr. Anderson, Mr. Toscano, Dr. Shields, Ms. Jones, Ms. Stafford, and Ms. St. Julian are collaborative, student-centered leaders who understand the importance of building strong teams, fostering meaningful partnerships with families, and maintaining high expectations for every student. Their experience and dedication will help each campus continue building on its strengths while creating new opportunities for student success.”

Dr. Shanaya Anderson
W.T. Hall Success Academy

Dr. Shanaya Anderson serves as principal of Hall Success Academy while continuing to lead the Aldine ISD Online Learning Department. In her dual leadership role, she brings extensive experience in campus leadership, blended learning, and digital innovation.

A veteran educator with 20 years of experience, Anderson has served in educational leadership for 15 years and has spent the past 14 years advancing online learning and instructional innovation. She earned a doctorate from Abilene Christian University, a master’s degree in school counseling and administration from Lamar University, and an MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria.

Her work in digital education has earned the 2024 Texas Digital Learning Association’s (TxDLA) Excellence Award in Digital Learning Innovation and the 2025 Digital Learning Collaborative’s (DLC) Digital Learning Unsung Superstar Award.

“I am honored to serve the Hall Success Academy community while continuing to support online learning across Aldine ISD,” Anderson said. “I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to create an innovative and supportive learning environment where every student is encouraged to grow, achieve, and reach their full potential.”

Juan Toscano
Jerry D. Keeble EC/PreK/K School

Juan Toscano returns to Keeble EC/PreK/K School as principal after previously serving as the campus assistant principal.

Originally from Mexico, Toscano earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Tecnológico de Monterrey before transitioning to education through Region 4’s alternative teacher certification program. He joined Aldine ISD in 2006 as a teacher and bilingual skills specialist at Curtis M. Magrill Elementary School, where he was named Campus Teacher of the Year for 2012-13.

After serving in leadership roles in Klein ISD, Toscano returned to Aldine ISD in 2019. He later served as principal of José de Santiago EC/PreK/K School and most recently as program director for primary and elementary instructional support in the district’s Multilingual Department.

“Early childhood education provides the foundation for a lifetime of learning,” Toscano said. “I am excited to return to Keeble and work alongside our students, staff, and families to ensure every child develops the confidence, skills, and love of learning needed for future success.”

Dr. Brittany Shields
Ellen B. Lane School

A proud Aldine ISD graduate and Douglas MacArthur High School alumna, Dr. Brittany Shields has dedicated her entire 16-year career in education to serving Aldine students, families, and staff.

Shields earned a doctorate in executive educational leadership from Houston Christian University, a master’s degree in special education from Sam Houston State University, and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Sam Houston State University. She also completed the principal certification program at Lamar University.

Throughout her career, Shields has served as a special education teacher, educational diagnostician, program manager of special education instructional improvement for high schools, director of special education programming and instructional improvement, and principal of Lane School.

“It is an honor to serve the students, families, and staff of Lane School,” Shields said. “Every student deserves individualized support, high expectations, and meaningful opportunities to succeed. I look forward to working alongside our school community to help every learner reach their fullest potential.”

Robin Jones
Ruby M. Reed Academy

Robin Jones brings more than 26 years of experience in education to her role as principal of Reed Academy. Throughout her career, she has served Aldine ISD students and educators at both the elementary and secondary levels.

Jones earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Jarvis Christian University and a master’s degree in educational administration from Prairie View A&M University.

She began her career at Inez Carroll Elementary School before serving in several instructional and leadership roles at Thomas J. Stovall Middle School. In 2024, she was named principal of Jewell Simpson Houston Academy, where she served until the campus closed as part of the district’s optimization efforts.

“I am excited to join the Reed Academy family and build on the school’s strong tradition of excellence,” Jones said. “Together with our students, staff, families, and community, we will foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement where every student is empowered to learn, lead, and succeed.”

Nadia Stafford
Cypresswood Elementary School

A proud Aldine ISD alumna and graduate of Dwight D. Eisenhower High School, Nadia Stafford enters her 25th year in education and has dedicated her career to serving the district’s students, families, and staff.

Stafford earned a master’s degree in educational leadership and principal certification from Sam Houston State University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Sam Houston State University.

She began her career in Aldine ISD as a fourth-grade English language arts teacher at R.C. Conley Elementary School before serving as a reading instructional specialist. In 2012, she was named assistant principal at Lola Mae Carter Academy, where she served for five years. Stafford later served as principal of Gus A. Oleson Elementary School for seven years before being named principal of Cypresswood Elementary School for the 2026-27 school year.

“I am honored to serve the Cypresswood Elementary community,” Stafford said. “I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff to build on the campus’s strengths and create a learning environment where every child feels supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their full potential.”

Delilah St. Julian
Nadine Kujawa Elementary School

Delilah St. Julian brings 27 years of educational experience to her new role as principal of Kujawa Elementary School, having dedicated her career to serving Aldine ISD students, families, and staff.

St. Julian earned a master’s degree in educational administration from Prairie View A&M University and a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston.

Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, magnet lab facilitator, after-school grant coordinator, assistant principal at Grace Raymond Academy, and principal of Weaver Odom Elementary School and Ruby M. Reed Academy.

St. Julian will lead Kujawa Elementary School as the campus begins implementing the district’s Accelerating Campus Excellence (ACE) model, which is designed to accelerate student achievement through strong instructional leadership, high expectations, and targeted student support.

“I am honored to join the Kujawa Elementary community during this exciting new chapter,” St. Julian said. “Together with our students, families, and staff, we will build a culture of high expectations, strong relationships, and academic excellence while ensuring every child has the support and opportunities needed to succeed.”
