AISD Superintendent to Participate in Annual Texas Tribune Festival

Aldine ISD Superintendent Dr. LaTonya M. Goffney is joining Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath, Dallas ISD Superintendent Michael Hinojosa, and two Texas teachers for a virtual conversation about public education in the time of COVID, at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 9, during the 2020 Texas Tribune Festival. 

The Texas Tribune Festival is one of the nation’s largest, most buzzworthy political gatherings. The festival brings Texans together to address the politics and policy that affect our communities, our schools, our work, and our daily lives. The event attracts Texas’ most prominent names and the nation’s most influential public figures to discuss our future. 

The annual festival is normally held in Austin, but due to COVID-19 all panels have been moved online. Some festival sessions are available for free. For access to all Tribune Fest programming, you will need to purchase tickets to the festival.
