Rayford Intermediate School Proactive in Drug Prevention Education

Attorney Donna Hawkins and Dr. Karen Calabre teamed up to advise students at Rayford Intermediate School about the harmful and legal dangers of illegal drug use. The pair appeared as part of Houston Bar Association’s Interprofessional Drug Education Alliance (IDEA) effort through a partnership with Houston Bar Association and Harris County Medical Society. IDEA pairs physicians and lawyers to educate fifth graders about the medical and legal consequences of drug abuse. About 80 students at Rayford Intermediate attended the presentation on October 17.
