FFA-Featured-Image-for-2014-Livestock-Show-and-Country-FairThe 55th Annual AISD Livestock Show and Country Fair will be held Jan. 29-31 at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center.

Project judging will be held on Thursday, Jan. 31, beginning at 8 a.m. in the Campbell Center Arena.

On Jan. 30-31, all projects will be on display to the public throughout the day. The Sale of Champions, which produced more than $121,000 in sales in 2013, will be held Friday, Jan. 31 at 7 p.m. and will also be held in the Arena.

The 7th Annual Art Breakfast and Auction will be held Fri., Jan. 31 in the foyer (second floor) of the Campbell Center beginning at 7:30 a.m. Individuals who attend the breakfast will have the opportunity to bid on the many student artwork projects on display. The artwork displayed above is by Marissa Rodarte, a 2013 graduate of Nimitz High School.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to see and support the many talented young artists in our school district,” said Joey Doyle, AISD program director of visual arts and elementary creative drama. “The art auction is a great scholarship opportunity for the students.”

Additionally, barbecue plates will be on sale Thursday and Friday in Room 104 of the Campbell Center. Everyone in the community is encouraged to buy a plate or buy several plates for family members, friends and co-workers.

The money raised by Aldine ISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) students is theirs to use for college scholarships or to fund future FFA projects.

“The success of the Annual Livestock Show and Sale of  Champions is due to the Aldine community’s unwavering support,” stated Franklin Higgins, AISD director of career and technical education. “Every year we are grateful to the folks who continually support our hard-working students.

Every year so many people and groups make a special effort to support our students as buyers. Without a doubt, the students, parents and agricultural science teachers appreciate the support of the Aldine community.”
