Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews addresses AISD student-athletes

Pro Football Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews addressed student-athletes from four Aldine ISD high schools in conjunction with the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s series on character on March 17 at Davis High School.

The event was broadcast live to all high schools in Aldine and to schools across the country. Extreme Network and Livesize joined the Pro Football Hall of Fame and AISD as partners.

Matthews spoke on striving to the best in any endeavor an individual undertakes and to never settle for mediocrity. Matthews was a first-round draft choice of the Houston Oilers in 1983 and played 19 years with the Oilers and Tennessee Titans. He was a 14-time Pro Bowler and during his career he played every position on the offensive line.

Matthews is pictured with Dominic Tong, AISD’s director of technology support services, who helped organize the event. Matthews signed autographs and posed for pictures with AISD student-athletes and district personnel following his address.
