Every activity will vary according to the age and experience of the students.
Campers Have Chance to Tryout to Form Part of the Aldine Dance Company
The Aldine Dance Company (ADC) is a youth dance program. It teaches and inspires excellence in dance. The performance and choreographic experience make the ADC program meaningful and enriching.
Aldine ISD students comprise the ADC. Company dancers get many opportunities to show off their talents. Dancers perform for many events in and out of Houston. Performances by the ADC have taken place in San Antonio, Austin and Dallas. There are also many opportunities to perform for district and community events. Members also compete in at least one major competition each year.
Admission to the ADC is by audition only. The Aldine Dance Company is separate from the AISD Dance and Performing Arts Summer Camp. Students in the summer camp can audition for a spot on the ADC. Attending the summer camp does not guarantee placement in the Aldine Dance Company. The First Round of auditions will take place during the summer camp. The ADC director will notify students if they made it to the Final Round set for Wednesday, May 25 from 7-8 p.m.
The Company requires accepted members to extend their summer training.
ADC dancers are focused, dedicated, and creative. ADC dancers understand that the fun is in the discipline of the work that brings progress and improvement.
Parents are a huge part of the success of the ADC program. The program could not be as successful without the ADC family and community support. Parents need to know that being in ADC is a huge commitment, but the rewards are tremendous.
