Dear Aldine Community,

We may be tired of COVID-19, but the virus is not tired of us. We must continue to take the pandemic seriously. I’m pleased to see a flattening of the number of cases in our district; however, we can not let our guard down. Other school districts in our areas are noting spikes. As we head into the holiday season, we must remember to wear our masks, avoid large gatherings, stay home when we aren’t well, and wash our hands as often as possible. 

Thank you for doing your part. Whether you are a custodian, teacher, student, or parent, you help keep our community safe. 

As a reminder, in the event of a positive COVID-19 case, each campus/department will follow the Three Cs:

• Contain (student/staff will wait for departure in the wellness room on each campus)
• Contact  (all those who have been in close contact with the individual are notified)
• Communicate (share information about confirmed cases with our community)

Another C is clean. Schools and buildings are undergoing enhanced and frequent cleaning and disinfection as part of our daily routine. High-touched surfaces like doorknobs, handrails, and restrooms are disinfected, often using a hospital-grade disinfectant recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for COVID-19 and other viruses. If there is a reported COVID-19 case, the area is sanitized and disinfected by the custodial team as quickly as possible. We will use extended breaks like the upcoming Winter Break, when buildings are empty, to deep clean district facilities. We will clean and disinfect carpets, dust light fixtures, and remove furniture to strip and wax floors during this time. 

We are no longer utilizing the COVID meter as a method to assess and communicate cases and district operations. We will continue to provide updates to staff and families about COVID closures when needed. 

Attendance and Grades are Important
Students counted present is not the same as completing assignments and keeping grades up. It is important that students, whether learning at home and on campus, engage with their lessons,  completing assignments, quizzes, and projects. Please log into the Home Access Center on Wednesday, November 11, as Progress Reports will be posted to follow your child’s progress.

Free Breakfast and Lunch Available to All Aldine ISD Students and Children 18 and Under
Aldine ISD Child Nutrition Services extended meal bundle pickup services to provide FREE breakfast and lunch to all Aldine ISD students and children 18 and younger. Learn more about the free meals for students learning on campus and at home.

The Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department is committed to strengthening partnerships with families, neighborhoods, and business communities. The Department invites the entire AISD community to join together and hear inspirational stories about how we’ve overcome this challenging year.
