Aldine ISD Employees Participate in Inaugural Aldine Leadership ISD Cohort

Aldine ISD employees are collaborating with local civic leaders to bring positive change to the community. 

This fall, Leadership ISD launched the inaugural Civic Voices of Aldine Fellowship. The fellowship brings together district and campus administrators, educators, civic leaders, and community leaders. The fellowship aims to bring all voices to the table. The goal of the fellowship is to advance racial equity and academic excellence through advocacy and policy in Aldine ISD. The Aldine cohort is the second Harris County fellowship program. The cohort joins existing fellowships in Dallas, Harris, and Tarrant counties. 

During the year-long program, the fellows will meet monthly to create strategies to improve student outcomes, ultimately leading to effective public school advocacy. The cohort will address systemic inequities by coming together with their unique skill sets and viewpoints to advocate for all students.

“Leadership ISD believes in the power of public education and the community’s ability to influence how our schools serve our students,” Quincy Boyd, Leadership ISD Harris County regional director said. “Our fellows take a collaborative approach to create positive change in schools and in the community. The cohort simply widens the circle for crucial conversations.”

Those conversations are turned into an action project, developed by the cohort. The 2021 Aldine cohort will focus on closing the equity gap to increase student outcomes in Aldine ISD. The project will be implemented the following year, allowing the next cohort to build upon the work that has been started.
