Pre-enrollment for Prekindergarten and Kindergarten for 2022-2023 School Year Runs Through May 31

Eligible families can begin the online pre-enrollment process today! They can also attend an enrollment event at one of 12 primary schools on May 21.

Pre-enrollment is open for eligible students entering the Aldine Independent Schools District for the first time in three grades — prekindergarten (PreK3 and PreK4) and new kindergarten. The deadline to pre-enroll students in PreK and kindergarten is May 31, 2022.

The early registration process gives parents information to ease the enrollment process. It also assists the district in planning for enrollment growth and staffing needs.

Join Us at One of 12 Enrollment Events on May 21!

The district will host PreK Enrollment Events held at all 12 of our primary schools.

Saturday, May 21, 2022
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.
Every primary school will host an enrollment event, making it easy to visit your child’s primary school.
Campus staff members will give families of PreK students a tour of their schools. They will answer questions and support families registering their PreK students.

• PreK3: Students who will turn three years of age by September 1 of the current year can preregister for PreK3. They must also qualify to attend PreK programs offered for free and meet the eligibility criteria.
• PreK4: Students who will turn four years of age by September 1 of the current year can preregister for PreK4. They must also qualify to attend PreK programs offered for free and meet the eligibility criteria.
• Kindergarten: Students new to Aldine ISD who will turn five years of age by September 1 of the current year can preregister for kindergarten. Current students attending PreK in Aldine going into kindergarten in the 2022-2023 school year do not need to pre-enroll.

PreK Program

The prekindergarten curriculum encourages a child’s curiosity as they grow and learn and play while building the foundational skills for reading, writing, math, and science. Experiences and activities in the curriculum program have been developed following early brain development research to include all developmental domains:

Additionally, a wide variety of materials enhance learning and exploration. At the same time, teacher-directed and child-selected experiences promote positive learning experiences. The prekindergarten program builds upon the preschool foundation for learning, focusing on pre-academic skills for school readiness. Children in our PreK program are prepared to enter kindergarten with a positive self-concept, curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Kindergarten Program

The kindergarten curriculum is designed to build upon previous experience. It taps into individual interests, creates new interests, stimulates curiosity, encourages independent learning, strengthens academic skills, and prepares a child for the next academic level. The Aldine ISD kindergarten program enables our students to master the goals and objectives and provides common goals for how parents and teachers support a young child’s learning. At Aldine ISD, your child will learn foundational skills for first grade in a fun and engaging environment while receiving high-quality, academically challenging instruction. Our program provides enrichment and learning opportunities tailored to meet children’s needs. As preparation for first grade, our curriculum develops tools for learning:
