Aldine ISD to Host Power of Education Sessions in Preparation for the Family and Community University’s Start
Disponible en:
On Monday, August 21, Aldine ISD’s Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Department will be hosting their Power of Education – Real Stories of Transformation tour, in anticipation of this year’s Family and Community University (FCUniversity) start date.
These free sessions will allow parents who previously graduated FCUniversity to speak about their experience, and how the classes helped them grow and better care for and support their families. FCUniversity will be starting its third year on September 5, and has seen continual growth in both enrollment and classes offered, since its inception. Last year’s graduating class saw 300 parents walk the stage, and FACE is looking to expand on its previous success with this upcoming school year.
FCUniversity and its classes are all free, with the selection of classes offered being large and diverse. Some classes offered include, but are not limited to:
- Special Education
- Academic Programs
- Virtual Reading Clubs
- College Awareness
- Paraprofessional Training (Teacher’s Aide)
- Financial Literacy including Entrepreneurs 101
- ESL Programs (English as a Second Language)
- GED Preparation
- Citizenship Education
- Digital Literacy
- Health Literacy and Resources
