Aldine ISD Students Advance to National History Day Contest

Three Aldine ISD student projects achieved top honors at Texas History Day and will proceed to the National History Day Contest, scheduled for June 2026 in Maryland.

The 2026 Texas History Day event took place on April 11. Students compete to vie for a chance to advance to the National History Day competition. This year’s National History Day theme, “Revolution, Reaction, and Reform in History,” motivated students to analyze pivotal moments that transformed societies and initiated lasting change.

Aldine ISD was represented by 70 students with 34 projects from 17 schools at the 46th Annual Texas History Day. Nine Aldine ISD projects advanced to the finals round of the state competition.

National History Day is a yearlong academic program that encourages students to conduct historical research and present their findings through exhibits, websites, documentaries, performances, and papers. According to National History Day, the top two entries in each category at affiliate contests are invited to compete at the national contest, where approximately 3,000 students from across the United States and overseas convene each June at the University of Maryland, College Park.

The following Aldine ISD students placed first or second at Texas History Day and advanced to the national competition:
